In Jammu and Kashmir, as the restrictions imposed after Article 370 were neutralized, as the government relaxed, the market movements started growing and lives were back on track. Business is going on normally in Jammu wholesale market.

The situation in Jammu is far better than the restrictions imposed in parts of the state. Especially compared to Kashmir.

There are strict security arrangements in the area. It is about two months from the end of the provisions giving special status to Jammu and Kashmir, but high speed internet is still a dream for the people here.

People here are getting internet facility through landline and mobile, but its speed is very low. As a result, people have not been able to file GST and income tax returns on time.

The people of Jammu are confused about their future. There are many questions in the minds of the local people, to which they have not yet been answered. For example, will Jammu and Kashmir remain a union territory or will it eventually be given statehood?

This question matters a lot to everyone, whether they are state government employees or businessmen and common people.

Under Article 370, outsiders could not buy land in the state, but now all can buy and sell.

This is the cause of concern for the local people of Jammu and they are looking forward to the political future of the state.

The apple market is doing well in Jammu's wholesale market. It is one of the big mandis here.

Shyamlal, president of the market association, says that apple prices are much lower than last year.

Apples are not grown in the plains. They come from the valley of Kashmir. Shyamlal says that he had paid the garden owners in advance for this season, but no one sent them apples.

He says, "The planters of the Kashmir Valley took an advance payment from us for this season, but we did not even have a truck of fruits. Our money is stuck. The first problem is that we are unable to contact them." If we talk about it then they say that the situation there is not good and their movement is banned.

In such a situation, apples are being sold from 50 to 70 rupees per kilogram. But the markets here are waiting for the best quality apple in the valley.

Shyamlal hopes that the conditions in the valley will improve and he will be able to get back his trapped money and goods.

People from outside the state have been eyeing Jammu for a long time to invest and have been investing in various projects for a long time. Some local businessmen have been upset since Article 370 was abolished.

Former Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Councilor and senior BJP leader Vikram Randhawa feels that many traders will not be able to stand ahead of the big players in the market.

He says, "There are not many big business houses in Jammu, but it is true that they have a fear that they will not be able to face the big players. The owners of heavy industries are already outsiders. Big investment in Jammu Even outsiders will do it. Local people do not know how they will face that situation. We cannot even face them. We do not have that much money or resources. ''

Vikram is also the owner of a crushing unit. He was happy when the four lane road project came up. He felt that business opportunities would increase for him but now his idea has changed.

He said, "Unfortunately, the people who got the contract for the four lane road project have brought their own crushing units. Not only the crushing units, they have also brought their workers from outside. We were disappointed that the development plans We have no contribution in it. ''

The local Dogras of Jammu are happy with the decision of the Government of India, but they are wishing that a system like Article 371 should also be in Jammu and Kashmir, so that the future of the youth can be secured.

Young Dogra leader Tarun Uppal says that the government should make some arrangements so that the future of the local people can be secured.

He feels that after the abolition of Article 370, the government should implement Article 371 of the Constitution in the state so that social security of the local people can be ensured.

Article 371 of the Constitution is applicable in many states of the Northeast, under which special provisions have been made for the states.

Special provisions were made for the states because they were quite backward compared to other states and their development was not done properly with time. Also, this article provides protection to their tribal culture. Also provides jobs to local people.

Article 371 speaks of the privilege of the local people over land and natural resources.

Article 371 is applicable in Mizoram, Nagaland, Meghalaya, Sikkim and Manipur and outsiders are not allowed to buy land here.

Many people of Jammu believe that after the removal of Article 370, outsiders will get opportunities to loot the mineral and other natural resources there.

Sunil Pandita is a Kashmiri Pandit. Three decades ago he came from Kashmir and settled in Jammu. Pandita says that there are already many outsiders in Jammu.

He says, "From Kashmiri Pandits to migrant laborers. The city is already overburdened. We are not ready for outsiders. This move of the government will increase unemployment and crime among the local youth."

New law and order has been implemented in the state. This is a time of change and local people are confused about their future whether the state will remain a union territory or will it get the status of the state?
