Fast Growth in the Water Level of Budhi Gandak River Flowing in Samastipur

The water level of the Budhi Gandak river, which is flowing in Samastipur district of Bihar, is constantly increasing. 202 people have died since the flood in Bihar. Most of the 42 people died in Araria. 164 blocks of 18 districts of Bihar is affected by the flood.

In Samastipur, there was an atmosphere of agony and tragedy all day. Due to the rising water level of Kareh river passing through Shivaji Nagar block, leakage started from the dam near Mahadeva Bhujair. At the place of the leak, people put the soil in it and closed it in some way.

Apart from this, near the Jakhar Dharmpur village, the leak from the dam of Kareh started coming out. People also put the soil here and closed the leak.

In 2004, the dam in Mahadeva near Bhujair was damaged due to which sections of the northern part of Begusarai including Samastipur district were badly affected.
