Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren expands cabinet

Chief Minister of the Indian state of Jharkhand, Hemant Soren, has expanded his cabinet. Hemant Soren has also included former Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren in the total 11-member cabinet.

The Governor of Jharkhand administered the oath to all the ministers on Monday, July 8, 2024. Eight faces in the cabinet are old. Three new ministers have been sworn in. Deepika Pandey Singh has also been included in these from the Congress quota.

Deepika Pandey Singh was given a ticket by the Congress against Nishikant Dubey from the Godda seat in the Lok Sabha elections, but a few days after the announcement of the ticket, the Congress changed the candidate and she lost that seat to the BJP.

Since then, there was talk of making Deepika Pandey Singh a minister. She is an MLA from Mahagama assembly constituency of Godda district.
