Vinod Rai, president of the Committee of Administrators constituted to oversee the Board of Control of Cricket in India (CCA) by the Supreme Court, on Friday said that former Indian captain Rahul Dravid refused to become the national team's batting consultant during the foreign tours (Test), While Zaheer Khan's bowling consultant has not yet taken a decision.

According to Vinod Rai, Dravid has refused to take the position himself. Dravid has told due to the role of chief coach of India-A and Under-19 team. However, he has said that he will be available during the senior team's camp at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) on the request of chief coach Ravi Shastri.

After the BCCI meeting, Vinod Rai told reporters, "The matter has been completely settled regarding the contract of Dravid. He has a two-year contract, so he has said that he will not be available at the time of overseas tour of senior team."

Vinod Rai said that efforts are being made to create a concerted relationship between Zaheer Khan's existing contract with the Delhi Daredevils and the agreement between the proposed consultant of the Indian team.

According to Vinod Rai, "Before this, there was no such system. We are trying to resolve this matter. Zaheer is in the planning to be appointed as a consultant with the Indian team, but we can add him only when there is an agreement.''

Vinod Rai said, "We can not say to Zaheer that we will enter into a contract with you for three months or three weeks." We have to think about the agreement with their IPL contract and channels."

Vinod Rai said, "This matter can only be resolved when the person concerned will be spoken. We have talked with both Rahul and Zaheer."

On July 15, the BCCI had formed a four-member committee for assistant coaches. BCCI's acting president C.K. Khanna, acting secretary Amitabh Chaudhary, COA member Diana Edulji and BCCI's chief executive officer (CEO) Rahul Johari are included in this committee. Dravid and Zaheer were recommended by the three-member Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) of Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman to be the batting consultant and bowling consultant of the team.

But Ravi Shastri wanted his favorite people in the support staff and that is why the BCCI appointed Ravi Shastri's choice Bharat Arun as the bowling coach and Sanjay Bangar assistant coach.

The BCCI said that they have full faith in the CAC and the Board did not insult the CAC in any way. Vinod Rai said, "They were very busy person and his intent was to appoint only a good coach. CAC has the right to choose the main coach. The CEO of the Board and the executive secretary were present in meeting and all three had agreed on the name of Ravi Shastri.

According to Vinod Rai, "Though the CAC suggested Zaheer and Dravid as advisors and the CEO and the secretary knew about it. Therefore, in the first press release of BCCI, it was said that they were appointed. Vinod Rai said that the BCCI has full confidence in the CAC.
