More than 90 people killed in Israeli attack on a school in Gaza

Hamas' Civil Defense Agency says several people have died in an Israeli attack on a shelter built in a school in Gaza.

The Israeli army has said that it has targeted Hamas' command and control center being operated in the school.

Gaza's Civil Defense Agency says at least 90 people have died and many people are injured in the attack in the Daraj district.

Civil Defense Agency spokesman Mahmoud Bassal has told AFP news agency that the death toll could be between 90-100 and many people are injured.

Three Israeli rockets hit the school where displaced people from Palestine were housed.

Earlier, in a post on Telegram, a Civil Defense spokesman described it as a 'massacre'.

The Israeli army says it has attacked Hamas militants operating within the Hamas command and control center located at the Al-Taba'in school.

The director of a Gaza hospital has told the BBC that more than 70 people have been killed in an Israeli airstrike on a school building sheltering displaced Palestinians in Gaza City.

At the same time, a spokesman for the Israeli Army (IDF) says that the Al-Taba'in school was working for Hamas and Islamic Jihad and about 20 militants were active there.

According to news agency AP, the Gaza Health Ministry's ambulance service has reported that more than 60 people have been killed and more than 47 injured in the attack. At the same time, the Gaza Civil Defense Agency said that at least 90 people have lost their lives in this attack.

In the last few days, Israel has carried out many such attacks on schools in Gaza. According to the United Nations, Israel has directly attacked or damaged 477 out of 564 schools in Gaza till July 6, 2024.

According to locals, Al-Tabaeen school was also used as a mosque and the Israeli attack took place during morning prayers.
