Modiji Can Not Forgive Farmers' Debt, Only Can Give the Farmer Shot: Rahul Gandhi

The district administration has relaxed the women and children in the violence-affected Mandsaur district of Madhya Pradesh till 4-6 pm in the curfew. Mandsaur's SDM NS Rajawat gave this information to the news agency ANI.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has issued a video message on Twitter saying that he will continue to work for the public and the farmers throughout the life.

On Tuesday (June 6th) in Mandsaur, the farmers were shot dead by the police, in which five farmers were killed. The state government first denied the killing of farmers by the police's bullet, but on Thursday (June 8th) the state Home Minister Bhupendra Singh admitted that the lives of farmers have been shot by the police. Earlier, Bhupendra Singh had refused to be killing of farmers in the firing of police.

Farmers in Madhya Pradesh are on a strike from June 1 for the debt waiver and demand for fair price of the crop.

The police has released Rahul Gandhi.

Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi and MP Sachin Pilot, who were going to meet the families of five farmers killed in police firing in Mandsaur, were taken into custody by the police.

Rahul told the media that the police had not told them the reason for taking them into custody. After being detained by police, Rahul Gandhi, while targeting PM Narendra Modi, said, "Modiji can not forgive the farmers' debt, do not pay the right rate and bonuses, can not compensate, only the farmer can shoot."

Congress leader Digvijay Singh and JDU leader Sharad Yadav have been stopped by the police in Neemuch. Both leaders have also been arrested by the police on this issue.

Mandsaur SP OP Tripathi has said that in the last three days, police have arrested 62 people in connection with the violence. The police has also filed a complaint in the case of handling with Mandsaur DM Swatantra Kumar Singh.

Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Bhupendra Singh said, "Five farmers have died due to police firing. It has been confirmed by the investigation."

On Tuesday (June 6th) the police opened fire after the farmers protesting about 20 point demands related to raising minimum support price for agricultural produce.

The district administration has imposed Section 144 in the entire district after deteriorating the situation in Mandsaur. Due to the fear of protests being spread in the surrounding districts, the administration has banned mobile Internet services in Mandsaur including Neemuch and Ratlam districts.

After the killing of five farmers, the district collectors of Mandsaur, Neemuch and Ratlam have been transferred. OP Shrivastav, District Collector of Shivpuri has been given the charge of Mandsaur. At the same time, B Chandrasekhar was removed and Tanvi Sundriyal has been appointed Ratlam and Kaushalendra Vikram Singh as Neemuch District Magistrate instead of Rajneesh Shrivastav.

Farmers in the state are on strike from June one for the demand for debt forgiveness and fair price of the crop. Thursday is the eighth day of the strike. The movement of farmers in the Malwa-Nimad zone has been violent for two days. On Wednesday (June 7th), violence took place in several places and vehicles were blown up.

Congress leader Digvijay Singh has demanded resignation of CM Shivraj Singh after the death of farmers.
