Mahatma Gandhi's bone remains are reported to be stolen in Rewa, Madhya Pradesh in India. The Madhya Pradesh Police has confirmed this.

On October 2, the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi was celebrated. This incident is on the same day.

In the year 1948, a part of the bone remains of Gandhi was kept in Bapu Bhawan at Rewa.

According to the FIR registered in this case, not only the bone remains have been stolen but their photographs have also been tampered with. 'Anti-national' has been written in green on Gandhi's picture.

Rewa police told local journalist Shuraiha Niazi that he was investigating the matter.

Mangaldeep, who oversees Bapu Bhawan in Rewa, described the incident as shameful.

He said, "I opened the gate of the building in the morning because it was Gandhi Jayanti." When I came back at around 11 in the night, I saw that Gandhiji's bones were missing and his picture was defaced.''

After the incident, local Congress leader Gurmeet Singh lodged a police complaint.

He said, "This madness must stop. I request the Rewa police to check the CCTV cameras installed in Bapu Bhawan. ''

Mahatma Gandhi played a very important role in giving India independence from British rule. He gained fame all over the world through his satyagraha and non-violent movement.

However, a group in India considers them against Hindus. This group thinks that Mahatma Gandhi was in favor of Muslims. Due to this thinking, he was assassinated on 30 January 1948 by Nathuram Godse, a member of the Hindu Mahasabha.

After death Mahatma Gandhi's ashes were not immersed in the river.

They were divided into different parts and kept in various museums of Gandhi made in India, one of which is also Bapu Bhawan of Rewa.
