The Kerala High Court has removed the ban placed on the cricketer S Sreesanth. It was banned by the BCCI. Sreesanth was banned for spot-fixing during the IPL season 6 in 2013.

BCCI imposed a life time ban on Sreesanth. BCCI had banned Sreesanth in September 2013. The court's decision came with great relief for Sreesanth.

Sreesanth had shifted to the Kerala High Court to remove the ban imposed by the BCCI.

In year 2015, the Delhi trial court had canceled all charges against Sreesanth. Along with Sreesanth, all 36 accused, including Ajit Chandila and Ankit Chavan, were acquitted. But even after the trial court decision, the BCCI did not withdraw the ban on Sreesanth.

In the same year in April this year, the BCCI also rejected the appeal of Sreesanth's lifelong ban.

In his petition, Sreesanth had said that after the trial court's decision, he asked BCCI to remove the ban, but he did not take any action.

The BCCI had dismissed the appeal saying it will not compromise on zero tolerance policy against corruption.

Sreesanth has played 27 Tests, 53 ODIs and 10 T20 Internationals from India. He has taken 87 wickets in Test towards India, 75 in ODIs and 7 wickets in T20. He played last match in 2011 from Team India. Since then, he is out of the team. Last year, he also joined politics. He contested the Kerala assembly on the BJP ticket. Although he had to face defeat.
