The last chance of calling for Amit Shah to testify to the former minister of Gujarat Government, Maya Kodnani. The special court gave the last chance to Maya Kodnani to bring BJP president Amit Shah to court for testimony.

Maya Kodnani wants to call a court to give testimony to Amit Shah in her favor; for this, she has also sought time from the court, but Maya Kodnani has not yet convinced Amit Shah to come to court for his testimony in her favor.

This case is related to Naroda Patiya massacre during the Gujarat riots. The court said till next date if Maya Kodnani is unable to present Amit Shah in the court for the testimony, the trial hearing will not be avoided.

Maya Kodnani has asked for more time from the court so that she can know Amit Shah's address and ask him to appear before the court.

Maya Kodnani had told the special court on Monday (September 4th) that she needs more time to contact Amit Shah so that she can be summoned and asked to appear in court.

In her application to the court, Maya had said that due to the busy programs of Amit Shah, it is difficult to approach them.

Maya had said that she is having difficulty in deciding the summon should be sent to Amit Shah on which address. Maya Kodnani asked the court for the time up to September 12.

Special Judge PB Desai gave her time till September 8 to present Amit Shah for prosecution. On Friday 8th September, Maya Kodnani could not even bring him to the court. After this she has asked for more time from the court.

Last month, the Supreme Court had issued an order to the special court saying that the hearing of the Naroda Patiya massacre should be completed in 4 months.

Maya Kodnani, accused of the Naroda Patiya massacre, had proved that on 28th February 2002, the day of the Gujarat riots were going on, she was not present at the spot, demanded testimony of 14 people including Amit Shah.

Of these, 12 people have testified in favor of Maya Kodnani. These include their husband Surendra Kodnani, BJP's former councilor Dinesh Makwana, former BJP legislator Amrish Govind Bhai.

In this massacre, 11 people of Muslim community were killed. In this case, 82 persons are facing allegations; among these, Maya Kodnani is also one of them.
