Congress today alleged that the government's land of Rs 1,767 crore in Navi Mumbai was given in Rs 3.60 crore only to a private builder and Congress claimed that the deal was received by the blessings of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
The Congress alleged that the state's Urban Development Department helped the private builder illegally get 24 acres notified land in the name of paying compensation to the group of families displaced from the Koyna power project, Kharghar in Navi Mumbai.
Chief Minister Fadnavis has the Urban Development Department.
The BJP has denied this charge and has called it childish. BJP said that the Congress is unnecessarily dragging the name of the Chief Minister in this land issue.
Congress's media in-charge Randeep Singh Surjewala, former Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan and Mumbai Congress President Sanjay Nirupam mentioned a big scandal in the press conference in Mumbai and said that without the blessings of Fadnavis, this can not happen.
