CBI Raid at NDTV, Editor's Guild Expressed Deep Concern

After the raid on NDTV's co-founder Pranay Roy's house and establishments, the Central Investigation Agency has been cleared on Tuesday. It was said on behalf of the CBI that this is not a case of dues but it is a case of harm to the bank.

Regarding CBI Raid on Pranay Roy's establishments, the Central Agency said that we fully respect the freedom of the press. The case has not been filed due to loan default against the channel and promoters, but the matter relates to the wrong benefits of promoters Rs 48 crore. ICICI Bank has been damaged due to collusion and criminal conspiracy of Pranay Roy, Radhika Roy, M/s RRPR Holdings Pvt Ltd . The case has been registered on the basis of complaint of a share holder of ICICI Bank.

In its statement, the CBI clarified that the Raid was done only on the premises of the promoters of the news channel and the offices. CBI raids have not been done on NDTV offices, media studios and news rooms or media-related places. We respect the freedom of the press.

On behalf of the CBI, the investigation has been done under the proper process of law and in the jurisdiction of the Court of Law. Earlier on Monday, CBI spokesman RK Gaur had told that four places including Delhi and Dehradun were searched.

NDTV issued the statement regarding the raids conducted by the CBI. Channel said that the CBI is only annoying NDTV and its promoters through old allegations. NDTV and its promoters will continue to fight against this revenge action being done by different agencies.

It said, "We will not succumb to these efforts of democracy and the weakening of the freedom of speech in India."

The Editor's Guild also expressed deep concern over the CBI Raid. The Editor's Guild of India, while expressing deep concern over the raid on NDTV offices and its promoters, said that the entry of the police and other agencies in the media office is a very serious matter.

The Editors Guild believes that no person or institution is above the law, but condemns the attempt to shut down the media's mouth, and urges the CBI to comply with the legal process and ensure that the News Operations There is no intervention in the independent operation.
