Even after the formation of the interim government in Bangladesh, the protests of the students are not stopping.
On Saturday, August 10, 2024, protesting students in Bangladesh have gheraoed the Supreme Court.
According to BBC Bangla Service correspondent Akbar Hussain, thousands of protesting students are demanding the resignation of the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh.
The students allege that the Chief Justice of Bangladesh is working to carry out a judicial coup in favor of former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Earlier, an interim government was formed in Bangladesh. Nobel laureate economist Muhammad Yunus was sworn in as the chief advisor of the interim government.
The decision to nominate Professor Mohammad Yunus as the chief adviser of the interim government was taken after a meeting between Bangladesh President Mohammad Shahabuddin, military leaders and student leaders.

Bangladesh Chief Justice Obaidul Hasan has resigned from his post. Asif Nazrul, an advisor to the Bangladeshi Justice Ministry, has informed that his resignation has reached the Ministry of Law and Justice.
Asif Nazrul informed that his resignation has been sent to the President's Office.
The students participating in the anti-reservation movement had given an ultimatum to Bangladesh Chief Justice Obaidul Hasan as well as the judges of the Appellate Division to resign by 1 pm on Saturday, August 10, 2024.
BBC South Asia correspondent Samira Hussain has informed that on the morning of Saturday, 10 August 2024, thousands of protesting students came to the Supreme Court premises demanding the resignation of the Chief Justice of Bangladesh.
Hundreds of lawyers also participated in this protest.
At the same time, Asif Mahmood, the convener of the anti-reservation movement, called the Chief Justice a fascist and gave an ultimatum to stop the full court meeting and demand his resignation.
Anti-reservation movements have been going on in Bangladesh for the last few weeks. Hundreds of people have lost their lives in these so far. Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was also forced to resign from the post of Prime Minister due to heavy opposition and flee the country with her sister Sheikh Rehana to save her life.
After this, Bangladesh Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus was appointed as the chief advisor of the interim government. Muhammad Yunus took oath of office on the evening of Friday, 9 August 2024, after which Muhammad Yunus has appealed to the people to maintain peace.
