Bangladesh Army Chief General Waqar Uz Zaman, while addressing the country, has said that an interim government will be established in the country. For this, he has also talked to different parties.

Sheikh Hasina has resigned from the post of Prime Minister in Bangladesh and has left for Agartala city of India.

The Army Chief, while addressing the country, has appealed to the people to maintain peace. The Army Chief has assured justice for those who have died in the movement in Bangladesh.

The students of Bangladesh were agitating against Sheikh Hasina since July 2024. Their demand is that reservation in jobs at high government posts in the country should be abolished.

This movement had become quite violent, in which about 300 people have died so far. The students were later adamant on the demand for the resignation of Sheikh Hasina.

Sheikh Hasina was the Prime Minister of Bangladesh since 2009.

In Bangladesh, some protesters have been seen entering the Prime Minister's official residence in Dhaka, while thousands of students have also pelted stones at the PM residence.

After the resignation of Sheikh Hasina in Bangladesh, protesters have entered the Prime Minister's residence in Dhaka. In the pictures, protesters are seen carrying away the goods from the Prime Minister's residence.

According to the BBC correspondent present in Dhaka, in a picture shown in the local news channel, people can be seen carrying a sofa-like item from the Prime Minister's residence.

Students were on agitation in Bangladesh since last month, earlier their demand was to end reservation in government jobs. Later they were demanding the resignation of Sheikh Hasina from the post of Prime Minister.

A short while ago, Sheikh Hasina resigned and left for Agartala city of India. After that, Bangladesh Army Chief General Waqar Uz Zaman addressed the country and appealed to the people to maintain peace.

Thousands of protesters were seen celebrating in Bangladesh after Sheikh Hasina resigned from the post of Prime Minister and left the country.

Some protesters also climbed the statue of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in Dhaka's Gana Bhavan and tried to break the statue.

A protester has told the BBC that protesters are breaking the statue of Sheikh Mujib at the official residence of the Prime Minister of Bangladesh.

Mujibur Rahman was the father of Sheikh Hasina. He is considered the father of Bangladesh's independence.

Under the leadership of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Bangladesh fought for independence from Pakistan in 1971.

In July 2024, following the order of the Supreme Court in Bangladesh, the children of those who participated in the freedom struggle were given reservation in government jobs.

It was only after this order that protests against reservation started in the country.
