India's leading male badminton player Kidambi Srikanth won the title of the Denmark Open badminton tournament on Sunday (October 22).
In the men's singles finals Srikanth won the title by defeating Lee Hyun of South Korea.
Eighth world seeded Indian player Shrikant beat Hyun 21-10, 21-5 in straight games in 25 minutes.
Srikanth won the Denmark Open title for the first time in his career. However, he is the second Indian player to win this tournament. Prior to this, Prakash Padukone won the tournament in 1979 and 1980.
Let us know that in the semi-finals before this, Srikanth had defeated Wong Wing of Hong Kong on Saturday. Eighth World seeded Srikanth had won the match in a 40-minute match by Wong 21-18, 21-17.
At the same time, South Korea's player Lee Hyun made a major turnaround in the semifinal match by defeating his compatriot and top world seeded Son van Ho. Hyun entered the final by defeating Son 25-23, 18-21, 21-17 in an hour and 32 minutes.
