During his visit, Chief Minister Yogi Aditya Nath inspected the slum located at Shergarh in Meerut. During this time, there was not a rosary by the yogi on the statue of Bhim Rao Ambedkar, India's Constitution creator, whereby Dalits became angry .
Dalits expected that the CM Yogi Aditya Nath would make wreaths on the statue of Ambedkar. The angry Dalit started sloganeering the 'Yogi Murdabad' as he did not wreath at the idol.
Not only this, the people who are doing ruckus also tear down the posters and banners of the yogi and jam the road. People committing the racket also targeted the liquor contract located near the road. The raging Dalit protesters ransacked and robbed liquor at the liquor shop.
The fierce performances of the Dalits continued for a long time. Later, the police force reached on the spot and threw the people out of rage using the force.
At the same time, locals say that demand for removal of liquor contract was being for a long time, but their demand was not being taken care of.
