Saudi Arabia will also conduct Hajj in 2020, in the era of corona virus infection. But the number of Hajis in this event will be limited.

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah Affairs of the Saudi Arabian Government issued a statement on Monday, stating that limited Hajis will be allowed to be performed this time due to Corona virus infection.

This statement said that this year only people living in Saudi Arabia will be allowed to perform Haj pilgrimage.

The statement said that other protective provisions will also be adopted to prevent corona infection among people.

Islamic calendars change according to the moon, but Hajj is in the time of Bakrid. This time Hajj is being organized in the first week of August.

There are five basic pillars of Islam, the last of which is considered to be Haj. Physically fit and financially affluent Muslims desire to perform Hajj at least once in life.

This is the reason that every year more than 20 lakh Muslims reach Mecca for Haj. However, this time Muslims from other countries will not be able to go to Saudi Arabia to perform Haj.

However, in view of the Corona crisis, the Haj pilgrimage was also being postponed this year. In April, Haj Affairs Minister Mohammad Saleh Banten said that Saudi Arabia is concerned about the safety of the Hajis and has urged people not to show any haste on their booking.

Umra was also kept closed due to the risk of infection with the corona virus. Restrictions on travel to Umrah were imposed with the Corona lockdown ban in March.
