A delegation of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and several other leaders of the opposition reached Srinagar in Kashmir, India on Saturday, but these leaders were not allowed to leave the airport and were returned to Delhi from the airport itself.

Apart from Rahul Gandhi, the opposition delegation included Congress leaders Ghulam Nabi Azad, Anand Sharma, KC Venugopal, CPM General Secretary Sitaram Yechury, DMK leaders Tiruchi Siva, Sharad Yadav, TMC leader Dinesh Trivedi, NCP leader Majid Memon and CPI General Secretary D Raja. . Congress MP Rahul Gandhi said, "I was invited by the Governor to come to Jammu and Kashmir. I accepted the invitation. He said that everything is normal there. He said that he will send an airplane for me. I Thanking him, he refused to take the plane. But I accepted his invitation and said that I will come there. I will accompany the senior leaders of the opposition Went there. We wanted to meet people there. I wanted to know the circumstances under which people were going through and help them in this situation. Unfortunately we were not allowed to go beyond the airport. In fact it is very Sad but the media was also abused, some of them were beaten up. It is quite clear from this that the situation is not normal in Jammu and Kashmir.

CPM General Secretary Sitaram Yechury said, "When we were detained at the airport, we asked what charges were made and we wanted to see the order. As per the law, we should be given a copy of that order. They gave us that Did not give the copy and read it out. They requested us not to insist on getting the copy. And when we saw that order, it was written in that order that we They have come together to create disruption. ''

Ghulam Nabi Azad said, "The central government enacted a law which is not accepted by the people of Kashmir. To cover the situation there, the entire state has been closed. No people from any country of the country You can talk to them and not others. This is a matter of concern for the country.

Media personnel at the airport to cover the visit of opposition leaders have alleged that the police misbehaved with them. Journalists of the news channel said that media persons were mistreated saying that this is a defense airport and you cannot report here.

All the communication facilities including telephone, mobile, internet have been closed and Section 144 is in force since the announcement of the removal of the provisions of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir and dividing it into two Union Territories.

According to news agency ANI, the leader of the opposition left for Srinagar at 11.50 am by Air Vistara flight.

Before this opposition delegation went to Srinagar with Rahul Gandhi, there was a statement from the Jammu and Kashmir administration that these leaders should not come to Kashmir and cooperate.

At the same time, police sources also said that the opposition delegation will not be allowed to leave Srinagar Airport.

The administration had tweeted, "There will be inconvenience from visiting the leaders. We are busy protecting people from terrorists. The administration said that the leaders would be violating the restrictions which are still in many areas. Understanding senior leaders It must be given the highest priority to maintain peace, order and prevent harm. ''

Leaders of the opposition, however, said they had no idea of ​​any such advice.

Before leaving for Kashmir, Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad told reporters that if the situation is normal then why are the leaders of the opposition being prevented from going there, why two former chief ministers have been kept under house arrest. He said that "I am home there and I am not able to go to my house."

Since the special status of Kashmir of India has been lost under Article 370 of the Indian Constitution, Ghulam Nabi Azad has tried to go to Jammu and Kashmir but was returned.

Sharad Yadav said, "Who are we violating the law. They are citizens of our country, there are people of our party and have been going to meet them."

Just a few days ago CPM General Secretary Sitaram Yechury and CPI General Secretary D Raja arrived in Srinagar but were not allowed out of the airport and returned to Beerang.

Rahul Gandhi has been an attacker on the Modi government since the repeal of Article 370 of the constitution granting special state status to Jammu and Kashmir and raised many questions on the government's decision, raising concerns about the state of the state. .

After this, Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satyapal Malik claimed that the situation in the valley was normal and invited Rahul to visit Kashmir.

He said, "I invite Rahul Gandhi to come to Kashmir. I will also arrange for his visit so that he can come and see the ground reality."

Rahul Gandhi immediately tweeted and expressed his invitation to visit the valley with an all-party delegation.
