Why did the corona crisis deepen in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates?

Corona virus infection cases in Saudi Arabia have risen to over two lakh. In the neighboring country United Arab Emirates, the number of infected has increased to 50 thousand.

Last month, curfew was completely lifted in these two big economies of Arab world. Lockdown-related restrictions were implemented around 15 March in both countries.

It was decided to remove restrictions gradually and reopen business and public spaces. Lockdown in other Gulf countries was being relaxed.

However, it has been decided to continue partial curfew in Kuwait. No such restrictions were imposed in Bahrain and Oman. Saudi Arabia is among the Gulf countries most affected by the Corona crisis.

4100 cases of corona infection were reported in Saudi Arabia on Friday and the number of corona infections increased to 205,929 on Saturday. 1858 people have also died due to Corona epidemic in Saudi Arabia.

Nearly 15 reported daily cases of corona infection in Saudi Arabia around June 15, but later saw a decline.

Nearly 900 cases of corona infection were being reported daily in the UAE at the end of May, but in recent times the figures had fallen to around 300 to 400.

But 600 cases of corona infection were reported in the UAE on Friday and over 700 on Saturday. There the total number of corona infects has increased to 50,857 while 321 people have also died due to corona.

Foreign tourists are being allowed to enter the UAE's premier business center Dubai from 7 July.

However, this exemption has not been granted in the entire UAE. Qatar is the second most affected country in the Gulf region due to the Corona virus.

Nearly 2000 cases were reported daily in late May, but this Saturday the figure has fallen to around 500. The total number of corona infects in Qatar is close to one lakh.

On the other hand, Oman's health minister said on Thursday that during the last six weeks, cases of corona infection in the country have increased rapidly.

He has also appealed people to take health precautions. Iran is the country most affected by the Corona epidemic in the Middle East.

There are 237,878 cases of corona infection and 11,408 people have died. These figures are as of Saturday. New restrictions have been put in place in Iran to prevent the epidemic.
