What did Pakistan say on the changing political situation in Bangladesh?

The Foreign Ministry of Pakistan has said that they are with the people of Bangladesh. At the same time, Pakistan has also expressed hope that the situation in Bangladesh will soon return to normal.

In a statement issued by the Pakistani Foreign Ministry on Wednesday, 7 August 2024, it has been said that the government and people of Pakistan stand with the people of Bangladesh in every difficult time and they hope that the situation in Bangladesh will return to normal soon.

The statement issued by the Pakistani Foreign Ministry further said that 'We believe that the spirit and unity of the Bangladeshi people will lead them to a bright future.'

On Monday, 5 August 2024, during the 'Long March to Dhaka' i.e. Dhaka campaign of agitating students, Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her sister Sheikh Rehana fled the country.

At the same time, Nobel Prize winning economist Muhammad Yunus has been made the chief advisor of the interim government in Bangladesh.

After Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina left the country, the Army Chief addressed the nation and talked about forming an interim government.

This decision has been taken after a meeting between the President, the Army and the students.
