Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar addressed the media on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, after returning to Patna without attending the press conference held after the meeting of opposition parties in Bengaluru, the capital of the Indian state of Karnataka.
BJP was told that Nitish Kumar had returned to Patna after being angry with the meeting of the opposition, on this question he said, "Why should we be angry? And what does BJP have to do with this meeting? People talk in different ways, there is nothing special in this. We had told in the meeting that we should let the people leave."
He said that all kinds of talks happened in the meeting, everyone gave their suggestions and only then the announcement was made.
Nitish Kumar also said that when the right time comes, other parties will also join the opposition unity.
On the NDA meeting in Delhi on July 18, 2023, Nitish Kumar said, "In the time of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, there used to be a meeting of the NDA, all the parties were called, but after that he did not call any meeting of the NDA."
He said, "When we went with them in the last five years, where was any NDA meeting held? When we held a meeting, they felt that a meeting should be held."
Taking a dig at the NDA, Nitish Kumar says, "So many people have been named, who knows which party they are? In the meeting held here, everyone is a known face. When we removed them, we also included them.
"That's why we had deliberately said that either merge or go out because if he had remained, he would have spread all the news of the meeting on 23rd. We had made that man the Chief Minister in our place."
He was referring to HAM leader and former Chief Minister of Bihar Jitan Ram Manjhi.
After the 26-party opposition meeting in Bengaluru, the name of the opposition unity was announced as 'Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance' i.e. 'India'.
It is being considered as a concrete step of 'opposition unity' against the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance ie NDA.
What did JDU President Lalan Singh say on the question of Nitish's displeasure with the opposition alliance?
JDU National President Lalan Singh has reacted to the question of Nitish Kumar's displeasure at the meeting of opposition unity held in Bengaluru, the capital of the Indian state of Karnataka.
After the meeting was over, Nitish Kumar did not even appear in the joint press conference, after which BJP leaders started raising questions.
Talking to the journalists, Lalan Singh said that it is just a rumor and Godi media of the country is also supporting such rumours.
He said, "There has been a lot of propaganda in the last several days. Sometimes it was said that Janata Dal and RJD will merge. This propaganda was started by the Godi media. Then it was told that there is a tussle between Janata Dal and RJD. Now it is running that Nitish Kumar is angry.
“Nitish Kumar ji is the facilitator of opposition unity and the facilitator never gets angry. The name has been decided with the consent of all India.”
Earlier, BJP leader Sushil Modi had said, "Nitish Kumar is angry for not being made the coordinator of the opposition alliance." This was the reason why he left the press conference and returned to Patna.
