Malaria medicines are considered helpful in people infected with the corona virus. US President Donald Trump phoned India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi and requested him to send hydroxychloroquine, a malaria drug. India has banned the export of this medicine because domestic consumption is very high.

On Monday, President Trump even said that if India did not send medicines, America can retaliate.

On Tuesday, the Foreign Ministry of India issued a statement in this regard and clarified the situation. Anurag Srivastava, spokesperson for India's Foreign Ministry, said, "Some media institutions are unnecessarily creating controversy over medicines and pharmaceuticals related to Kovid-19. Like any responsible government, we will first ensure that we have sufficient stocks of medicines for our people. To that end, temporary steps were taken to stop the export of some drugs. Along with this, potential needs were also considered in different circumstances. The ban has been lifted after sufficient availability of essential drugs has been confirmed. On Monday, the DGFT informed about the removal of the ban on 14 drugs. Paracetamol and hydrochloroquine will be placed in the license category and their demand will be constantly monitored. However, given the stock situation, our companies can export as per their contract. ''

"Given the severity of the corona virus epidemic, India has always ensured that the international community must show strong solidarity and cooperation," he said. In this context, instructions have also been issued regarding evacuation of citizens of other countries. In view of the humanitarian aspects of the epidemic, it has been decided that India will license a fair amount of paracetamol and HCQ to all its neighboring countries, which depend on our capabilities. We will also supply these essential medicines to some countries badly affected by the epidemic. Therefore, we will dismiss any speculation or politics in this regard. ''
