India talked about respecting each other's sovereignty and integrity during discussions on promoting common security through dialogue and cooperation in the United Nations Security Council.
India's Ambassador to the United Nations Ruchira Kamboj said that only after respecting each other's sovereignty and territorial integrity can a country expect its sovereignty to be respected.
During this, India also mentioned double standards in dealing with terrorism without naming any country. China is the chairman of the Security Council for August 2022. It is believed that China was the target of India.
Ruchira Kamboj said, "Any coercive or unilateral action with the intention of changing the status quo is an insult to general security. Common security is possible only when all countries respect each other's sovereignty and territorial integrity. Only then will his sovereignty be respected.''
Ruchira Kamboj has given this statement at a time when tensions have remained between India and China on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) for the last two years.
Ruchira Kamboj said, "Common security is possible only when countries respect bilateral or multilateral agreements made with each other, and do not act unilaterally to sabotage those agreements."
India has been continuously alleging that China violates many agreements and protocols related to the border.
In the past two months, China has blocked a proposal by India and the US to designate Lashkar-e-Taiba leader Abdul Rehman Makki and Jaish-e-Mohammed leader Abdul Rauf Azhar as global terrorists in the United Nations.
Ruchira Kamboj said, "Common security will happen only when all countries stand together against common threats like terrorism and leave double standards."
