Ukrainian President Zelensky has said that Russian strikes have killed at least 51 people in eastern Ukraine.
It is said that a cafe in the village was attacked by a Russian Iskander missile.
The pictures that have come from Hroza village are heart-wrenching.
The head of the Kharkiv region, Oleh Sinyehubov, said all the dead were from the village of Hroza.
According to the census of 2020, 501 people lived here. 10 percent of the village's population was killed in this attack.
Ukraine's Interior Minister Lhor Klimenko told a Ukrainian TV channel that 300 people were present in the cafe attending a funeral when the village was attacked.
The United Nations has described the attack on Hroza as horrific.
In a statement, Denis Browne, the UN humanitarian coordinator for Ukraine, said attacks on civilians or civilian targets constitute a war crime.
The Ukrainian government says that there was no military target in this village.
This attack took place when Zelensky had arrived to attend a conference of European leaders.
In this conference, EU Foreign Affairs Chief Josep Borrell said that due to political turmoil, America is unable to help the Ukrainian army.
Aid funds for Ukraine were not included in the recent budget agreement reached in the US Congress.
Borrell said that European countries cannot fill the void created by the lack of American help.
Speaking at the Valdai Discussion Club, a think tank, before the attack, Russian President Putin reiterated that 'this war was started by Ukraine with the help of the West and a special military operation is being conducted to stop it.'
