In the Palani district of Tamilnadu, two factions clashed with the issue of blocking the truck carrying the calves. The crowd got furious outside the police station and the matter reached the blows. Police lathicharged to stop both groups.
According to the report of The Hindu, a person named Sendalankara Ramanuj Jeanar was going to Mannargurdi from Polachi to participate in Kumbhabhishekam. He saw five calves and two oxen carrying a mini van on Pudhu-Dharampur road. Jeanar went to Palani police station and took a complaint that the calves were being taken without obeyed without guidelines.
In the complaint, it was alleged that the calves were kept in the van without food and water. Early investigation revealed that Udaykumar, a resident of Thevanoor Pudhoor, was taking the calves.
As long as the police acted in the lawsuit, people of many Muslim organizations gathered outside the police station and started opposing the brewing of calves. At the same time people of some Hindu organizations also reached there. As soon as Jeanar came out of the police station, a group of angry mob threw stones at his vehicle. Police lathicharged and dispersed the crowd. Four injured have been admitted to the government hospital in Palani.
