Former Chief Election Commissioner TN Seshan, who has established the domination of Election Commission in India, TN Seshan is living a critical life in old age today. Like an anonymous person, his life is cutting in a old age home. People of their era say that they had established the order of the Commission in such a way that in the '90s a joke was very popular that' the leaders of India are either afraid of God or by TN Seshan '.
TN Seshan, who was IAS topper in 1955, took over as chief election commissioner of India in 1990 when the situation was bad. Bihar was infamous for capturing booths in elections. There was violence and mass disturbance. TN Seshan took strong action at that time. Decided to hold elections in several phases. There were elections in Bihar in five phases at that time. Not only this, under a strategy, many times, there was a change in election dates. For the first time in order to stop capturing the booths, they made an election under the supervision of central security forces in the country. In the year 1997, Seshan contested the presidential election, although he had to face defeat from KR Narayanan.
According to the report printed in NBT, Seshan, who has made transparency in the elections, is living an incomplete life in Chennai today. There are also victims of forgetting disease. Whenever he comes to his house feeling healthy, then sometimes go to stay at the Old Age Home 50 kilometers away.
According to the media report, 85-year-old TN Seshan is a devotee of Sai Baba. When Sai Baba died in 2011, he was shocked. Then the disease of forgetting happened. In this situation, close relatives admitted to the SSM Residency called the old age home. He spent nearly three years in the Old Age Home, after being healthy, returned home. Even now, they sometimes go to Old Age Home.
Tamil Nadu cadre IAS officer TN Seshan took charge of the country's Chief Election Commissioner on December 12, 1990. On this post, they remained till December 11, 1996. In 1995 he made history for the first time by making fair elections in Bihar.
Due to the strictness, they also got a dispute with many leaders. Earlier in the 1992 Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, he had told all the IAS-IPS officers that he would be responsible for any kind of disturbance. Along with this, he had said to 50 thousand criminals that either they handed them over to the police immediately or take anticipatory bail, otherwise they will not be spared. The effect was that in Uttar Pradesh, elections were held peacefully and with transparency.
