Addressing the Karnataka Legislative Assembly on Wednesday (October 25), President of India, Ramnath Kovind said that Tipu Sultan is a warrior fighting martyr fighting against the British. They made significant contributions to the development of Mysore rockets and used them best during the war.

Addressing the joint session on the 60th anniversary of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly and Legislative Council, he said this.

It is noteworthy that in the last 18th century, there was a controversy when celebrating the birth anniversary of the King of Mysore, when the Union Minister of the Modi Government and the BJP leader called him "Mass Rapist". Union Minister of State for Skill Development Anant Kumar not only refused to join the program but wrote a letter to senior officials of the Karnataka Government and tried to stop them from joining the event.
