In India, the Supreme Court expressed displeasure over such criticisms Wednesday (January 10, 2017) that it is trying to run the government. The bench of Justice Madan B Lokur and Justice Deepak Gupta made such a remarks during the hearing of the case relating to providing housing to urban homeless in the country.

The bench said, "If you can not work, then say so You could not do this We are not executive. You do not do your work, and when we say something, all in the country criticize us by saying that we are trying to run the government and the country. "

The bench said, "There are some such things. We are talking about people who have no place to live. And such people will have to give some place to stay alive. "Mehta said that the state government is aware of the situation and is making tireless efforts to provide shelter to the urban homeless.
The bench is also considering the suggestion of constituting committees at the state level to deal with the issue related to implementation of urban homeless and National Urban Livelihood Mission Plan. The Center suggested to the court that it could constitute a two-member committee in each state to deal with these issues. The court asked the Central Government to coordinate with the State Governments and recommend the names of the officials for the committee. The court also told the petitioner that he should also suggest the name of each person from the civil society.
The court has adjourned the hearing of the case for eight February, instructing them to take necessary steps within two weeks. Meanwhile, petitioner's lawyer Prashant Bhushan said that this is a huge task in Uttar Pradesh because there is a need of one lakh eight thousand shelters and only about seven thousand are made.
