In India, the Supreme Court said on Wednesday that anti-gorgetic activities (Cow vigilantism) will have to be stopped and it is not acceptable under law.

The Supreme Court has directed the states to deploy nodal officers in every district who take steps to stop such incidents of violence and take action against those who execute it.

The bench of Chief Justice of India Justice Deepak Mishra, Justice Amitav Rai and Justice A. M. Khanvilkar said, "It has to be stopped. What action have you taken? This is not acceptable. It must be acted upon."

This comment of the Supreme Court has come to the attention of the court by advocate Indira Jaysingh after being attracted to the violence being done by the Gorkha groups on the suspicion of beef in India.

Directing the appointment of Nodal officers, the Supreme Court has asked the Chief Secretaries of the state to file an affidavit in the matter, including the deployment of patrol on the highway.

The Supreme Court asked the Center why he should be held responsible for preventing such incidents under section 256.

The order of the Supreme Court came on a group of petitions including Tushar Gandhi. Tushar Gandhi is the grandson of Mahatma Gandhi.

Tushar Mehta, who came from the Center in the Supreme Court, said there are laws for violence committed by cow guards.

Chief justice Deepak Mishra said that he also knows that the law is present, but why not take action?

Chief Justice advised that plans can be made so that such incidents do not grow.

In recent times, incidents of violence have taken place in many places in the name of cow protection. Some of those who were beaten were also killed.

Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi has also advised not to take law to cow guards. In such a case, some organizations were against Modi.
