The responsibility of the Minister of State for Information and Technology has also been withdrawn from K Alfonso.

Till the time of his recovery, the charge of the Finance Ministry will be the responsibility of Railway Minister Piyush Goyal.

The biggest decision in the reshuffle of the ministries are being considered to withdraw the Information and Broadcasting Ministry from Smriti Irani. Recently, there was a lot of controversy regarding the rules related to journalists by Smriti. The rule was withdrawn after the intervention of the PMO. There was a provision to cancel the recognition of journalists on publication of Fake News. Apart from this, Smriti made many decisions. There was a dispute as to the transfer of PIB officers and collision with Prasar Bharati.

In addition to information and Broadcasting to Smriti had the Ministry of Textiles. But now they will have the responsibility of the Ministry of Textiles only. The decision for them is a major blow, because in the past, the responsibility of the Ministry of Human Resource Development has also been withdrawn.

Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, who was Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting and were looking over the independent charge of the Sports Ministry, now in charge of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting will hold freely. This is good news for them. Rathore has now been made independent charge of two ministries. Similarly, S. S. Ahluwalia has been appointed Minister of State in the Department of Information Technology and Electronics. While still he was looking after the work of the Minister of State for Clean and Drinking Water. Alfonso, the responsibility of this ministry has been withdrawn.
