Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi arrived on Ahmedabad (Monday, September 04) on Gujarat mission. In the dialogue program with Congress workers on the Sabarmati River Front, he said that the economic growth rate has dropped from PM Narendra Modi's economic policies. Notes ban and GST have broken the backbone of small traders across the country.
He said that the notes ban of PM Modi has failed. This has led to a decline in GDP. He also criticized the 28 percent GST and said that it has ruined the small businessmen.
By the end of this year, assembly elections will be held in Gujarat. Keeping this in mind, the Congress had called workers from all 182 assembly constituencies in Ahmedabad. So that they can share ideas with the party's top leadership.
The Congress had created a ramp on the Sabarmati River Front for the T-Shape so that around 10,000 workers could be gathered and communicate with their leader.
Speaking to HT Media, President of Gujarat Congress Bharat Singh Solanki said that the purpose behind organizing such a program was that the party workers directly communicated with Rahul Gandhi.
In Gujarat, the Congress has suffered a lot in recent times. MLAs, including Shankar Singh Vaghela, have joined to BJP.
However, Ahmed Patel's victory in the Gujarat Rajya Sabha elections kept the credibility of the party intact. To defeat Patel, BJP had made a heel peak, but in the battle of this election, which reached the Election Commission, finally, Ahmed Patel got the victory.
