The government of the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh has suspended six officers including SDM, CO (Circle Officer) in the Hathras case.
In a press release issued by the Uttar Pradesh government, it has been said that this action has been taken after the report of the SIT formed to investigate the Hathras Satsang accident.
The report does not rule out any conspiracy for the accident.
It also said that the accident happened due to the negligence of the organizers. A large number of people were invited to the event but adequate arrangements were not made for them.
According to the report, the local police and administration officials did not take the event seriously.
They also did not properly inform the senior officials about this.
The judicial commission has also started its proceedings for a thorough investigation of the Hathras accident.
On July 2, 2024, 121 people died in a stampede during a religious program in Sikandrarao area of Hathras. After this, the Uttar Pradesh government formed an SIT to investigate it.
