Ramnath Kovind will be the 14th President of India. In the presidential election, NDA candidate Ramnath Kovind got seven lakh two thousand 644 votes. Meira Kumar got 3 lakh 66 thousand 314 votes.
Ramnath Kovind got 65.35 percent votes, Meera Kumar got 34.35 percent of the votes.
Voting was held on Monday (July 17th) for the presidential election at 32 counting places in India. On Thursday, the ballot box of the Parliament was opened first. After that the ballot boxes of Andhra Pradesh and Assam were opened.
For the presidential post, there was a fight between NDA's Ramnath Kovind and Congress's Meira Kumar. President of India Pranab Mukherjee's tenure ends on July 24.
The 14th President of India will take oath of office on July 25.
