A controversy has started when the Bhagavadgita is kept next to the statue of Kalam in the Kalam Memorial in the memory of former President of India APJ Abdul Kalam. Many political parties, including the family members of Dr. Kalam, have protested against the statue of Kalam playing the veena in the memorial and keeping Bhagwadgita in front of him.

Let us tell you that on the second death anniversary of Kalam on July 27, PM Modi inaugurated the Kalam Memorial in Rameswaram in Tamil Nadu.

The family of Dr. Kalam says that the statue of Kalam should be a part of the great texts of all religions. DMK leader Stalin has said on this dispute that by showing the Gita near the statue of Kalam, Modi Government has tried to impose communalism.

Thirumvallan, the VCK leader, demanded to remove Geeta and said that the Kalam is being presented as a great lover of Hindu religion by giving place to Geeta near the statue of Kalam. This has also insulted Muslims, it should be removed immediately. The leader of the MDM, Vaiko has said on this issue: Is Gita a Great Book from Thirukkalal? We know very well what is the BJP trying to do in these ways?

Let us tell you that the cost of construction of Kalam Memorial has come to Rs. 15 crores and for this, the Tamil Nadu Government allotted the land in Kalam's village Pikarambu. On this occasion, Prime Minister Modi also unveiled a statue of Kalam made from wood in which he appears to be playing Veena. The former president was very good at playing this instrument.
