India's Foreign Minister S Jaishankar has given an explanation for what Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called 'Abki Bar Trump Government' in the US President's presence in Houston last month.

Jaishankar said that he did not support Donald Trump for the next election and his statement should not be manipulated.

The opposition Congress had raised a strong objection to Prime Minister Modi's speech, alleging that the Prime Minister had violated foreign policy by campaigning Trump.

But according to news agency PTI, Foreign Minister S Jaishankar has rejected such objections.

When asked about this, Jaishankar said, "The Prime Minister did not say so. If you look carefully, as far as I remember they were talking about the past time that Trump used this line. So what we were told should not be manipulated.

But after the Foreign Minister's clarification, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has tweeted a taunt.

Rahul Gandhi said in this tweet, "Thank you Mr Jaishankar for covering up our PM’s incompetence. His fawning endorsement caused serious problems with the Democrats for India. I hope it gets ironed out with your intervention.  While you’re at it, do teach him a little bit about diplomacy.''

Welcoming Donald Trump at the start of 'Howdy Modi' program in Houston on 22 September, Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised him and described him as a true friend of India.

Modi, referring to Trump's election campaign before becoming President, said, "The people of India have been able to associate themselves well with President Trump and the words of Candidate Donald Trump" this time Trump government "were also clearly understood to us. . ''

In fact, before the 2016 presidential election, Donald Trump released a video in which he wished people of Indian origin a happy Diwali. At the end of this video, he used the words "this time Trump government".

During the 2014 Lok Sabha elections in India, the Bharatiya Janata Party gave the slogan of "this time Modi government" and it also won the election.

After the Howdy Modi program ended, Congress leader and former Union Minister Anand Sharma tweeted and accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of campaigning for the trump.

Anand Sharma wrote, "Mr Prime Minister, you have violated the time honoured principle of Indian foreign policy of not interfering in the domestic elections of another country. This is a singular disservice to the long-term strategic interests of India."

In another tweet, he wrote, "Our relationship with America has always been the same with Republicans and Democrats. Your open campaigning for Trump is going to create a rift in sovereign and democratic countries like India and America."

The senior Congress leader finally wrote, "Remember, you have gone to America as the Prime Minister of India and not as a star campaigner for the US election."
