Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut said that Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi is capable of leading the country and also said that the Narendra Modi wave has now ended in the country.
This statement of Rout can cause problems for the Bharatiya Janata Party. He said that the people of Gujarat are very angry about GST, due to which the BJP will face a tough fight in the December Assembly elections.
Rout gave this statement while participating in a TV channel debate. He said, "Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is capable of leading the country. It is wrong to say 'Pappu'.
In this TV debate, State Education Minister and BJP leader Vinod Tawde was also present. Taking a dig at BJP, which won a huge majority in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, the MP said, "The biggest power in this country is the masses .... voters. They can make Pappu to anyone."
Raut also said, "There was a Modi wave in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, but this wave has ended. The way people are protesting in Gujarat after the GST is implemented, it seems that the BJP will get a tough fight in the elections."
The NDA partner party Shiv Sena has been targeting the BJP from time to time. These targets are often used by the Shiv Sena mouthpiece 'Samna'.
This statement of Rout has come a day after the dates of the Gujarat assembly elections are announced. There is no base of Shiv Sena in Narendra Modi's home state Gujarat, in which he has given his support to Patidar leader Hardik Patel. Hardik Patel had met Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray this year.
Let us state that the assembly elections in Gujarat will be held in two phases on December 9 and 14. Counting will be done with Himachal Pradesh on December 18. A total of 182 seats in the assembly will be held in 89 seats in the first phase and 93 seats in the second phase.
