Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi is on a visit to China.
According to Chinese state media, President Xi Jinping has called for an early and proper resolution on Iran's nuclear program.
Jinping has spoken of his support for safeguarding Iran's rights and interests.
Jinping told Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi in Beijing that he would positively resume talks to implement Iran's nuclear deal.
In 2015, Iran signed an agreement with Germany, China, USA, France, UK and Russia.
Under this agreement, Iran had to limit its nuclear programs in exchange for the removal of sanctions on Iran. But US President Donald Trump had separated America from it in 2018, after which this agreement was canceled.
China criticized the move and said that the US should take the initiative to return to the agreement.
In September 2022, the US imposed new sanctions on some companies related to Iran's oil exports, five of which were from China.
