A reconciliation roadmap between the two factions in the AIADMK after the death of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalitha has almost become ready. Under this, O Panneerselvam can be made the Chief Minister of the state and current Chief Minister E K Palaniswamy can be made general secretary of the party instead of Shashikala.

According to the news published in an English newspaper, a senior leader from AIADMK says that the merger agreement has been done, now a formal negotiation will be initiated for the final seal on the verdict and the announcement between the senior leaders of two factions. PalaniSwami will vacate CM's chair for Panneerselvam and will become party chief.

He said that the income tax department was raided on the premises of Health Minister C. Vijay Bhaskar, probably they could be removed from the cabinet. One or two faces can be included in the cabinet with former minister and legislator Senthil Balaji from the southern region of the state.

Party sources say that in the new cabinet, Senthil Balaji can be taken to Bhaskar's place.

It is worth mentioning that Senthil Balaji had on Friday announced a hunger strike against Vijay Bhaskar and Deputy Lok Sabha Speaker M Thambidurai. They are accused of delaying the construction of a medical college in Karur, Jayalalitha had announced this medical college.

It is worth mentioning that under the efforts of merger of AIADMK factions, the chief minister Palaniswamy-led faction had announced the formation of a committee on Friday and the opposition O Panneerselvam faction responded by saying that its committee will be constituted soon.

Rajya Sabha member R. Vaithilingam will be presided over by the committee formed by Palaniswamy and there is a possibility of some ministers being included in it.

Panneerselvam's ally K P Munusami told reporters that keeping in view the welfare of party supporters and people, we are also going to set up a committee.

Earlier on Thursday, the stalemate was triggered when the O Panneerselvam faction had formally laid down the party's general secretary VK Shashikala and the deputy general secretary TTV Dinakaran to remove from the party. He had also demanded a CBI probe into the circumstances related to the demise of former Chief Minister Jayalalitha on December 5 last year.

While sticking to his stance for the merger talks, the Panneerselvam faction had demanded that Palaniswamy-led faction, formally dismiss the 30 other members of her/his family, apart from Shashikala and Dinakaran, with the party.
