Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said that his country will test the legal validity of the Simla Agreement.

The Simla Agreement between India and Pakistan was signed in 1972. At that time Indira Gandhi was the Prime Minister of India and the President of Pakistan was Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.

According to news agency PTI, Qureshi also said that two-way agreements with India will be reviewed. The review work will be done by a special committee made by Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan. However, he did not provide details of which agreements Pakistan would review.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi has left for China where he will meet his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi.

India has abolished the provisions of Article 370 giving special status to Jammu and Kashmir. Pakistan has taken decisions against it, including undermining diplomatic relations with India and prohibiting business activities. Samjhauta Express plying between India and Pakistan has also been suspended.
