Swachh Bharat Abhiyan was started on October 2, 2014, but after more than two years time has passed, there is no improvement in the situation. This has been confirmed by a government survey itself.

According to the survey of NSSO, 6 out of about 10 toilets made in the country under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, there is not enough water supply.

This Survey narrates the reality of the mission of India's free from open defecation by the Centre Government of Modi in 2019.

According to the survey, after the Modi government came to power in 2014 about 3.5 crores toilets were built. The Central Government gave subsidy to the people to build toilets. But according to the survey report, 55.4 percent of the people in the rural areas are still forced to do so in the open because there is no supply of water in toilets.

NSSO has released reports about the samples of 1 lakh households.

According to the report, 7.5 percent of the population of the cities are still forced to do so in the open.

According to the survey, due to lack of sanitation, about 833 million people in rural areas and 377 million people in cities suffer from the risk of falling ill.

Tell, even before the many toilets were unable to provide water supply and drainage, there were reports of many people turning their toilets into a store room.

Apart from this, it has also been revealed in the survey that in the states of Punjab, Assam and Odisha, there is no institution for the cleaning or supervision of public toilets.

According to the survey, 40 percent of the village's toilets were not connected to any drainage system. In many villages, the washroom gets direct ponds or water of rivers.
