Talking about strengthening its relations with Maldives, China said that no third party is the target in their mutual relations.
China did not name any third country in this statement. However, this statement of China has come at a time when on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, Maldives President Mohammad Muizzu had said that after May 10, 2024, no Indian soldier will be present inside his country, even if he is in plain clothes.
According to news agency PTI, China's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said at a press conference in Beijing that China is committed to working with Maldives for a comprehensive strategic partnership.
"During the normal cooperation between China and the Maldives, no third party is the target, nor should any third party disrupt it," Mao Ning said without naming any country.
Muizzu has been continuously talking about the departure of Indian soldiers from Maldives. Recently a civilian team from India has reached Maldives. This team will replace the Indian soldiers present in Maldives.
On March 5, 2024, the President of Maldives had said that an agreement has been reached between Maldives and China regarding military assistance.
