India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi has appealed to turn off the light at nine o'clock on the night of April 5 to express solidarity and gratitude with those directly involved in the fight against the corona virus infection.
After this appeal of PM Modi, concern was being expressed about the fluctuations in voltage.
On this, the Ministry of Power has given a clarification saying, "The Prime Minister's appeal is only to turn off the light on April 5 from nine o'clock for 9 minutes in the night. Street lights or computers, TVs, fans, freezes and ACs have not been asked to turn off. Only the light has been appealed to switch off. This appeal is not applicable in hospitals, police stations, municipal services and manufacturing services. The PM's appeal is only for households. All local bodies have been asked to keep street lights on.''
