Naxalites Attacked CRPF Detachment in Sukma, 25 Soldiers Martyred

On Monday, around 300 Naxalites attacked the troop of CRPF in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh. In it, 25 CRPF personnel were martyred and six soldiers are still seriously injured.

Not only this, the Naxalites took away many arms of the soldiers.

Director General of the Naxal Operation of Chhattisgarh Police, DM Awasthi has told the media that the encounter between the CRPF and the Maoists lasted for about three hours and the soldiers faced it bravely.

He said that 100 soldiers of the 74th Battalion of CRPF were engaged in the security of construction work. When the Maoists attacked the troop of CRPF, 38 common people were present there, but no civilian citizen has died in this Naxal attack. The soldiers saved the lives of ordinary citizens while confronting the Maoists with bravery.

He told that the Maoists suddenly started firing on the troop of CRPF. During this, a group of 25 soldiers were sitting to eat food and these soldiers were martyred during this attack of Maoists. He said that this important work of road construction is going on in southern Bastar.

Awasthi told that the rocket launcher and IED have not been used during this attack. They said that the Naxalites were racking the troop of CRPF for a week. The Naxals knew what the CRPF team did.

According to sources, the total number of 22 arms have disappeared of soldiers. So far, 12 AK-47 (including five underbearal grenade launchers), four AKM (another AK-47 serial rifle), two INSAS LMG (Light machine gun) and three INSAS rifles have been reported. Five wireless sets of soldiers, two binoculars, 22 bulletproof jackets and a deep search metal detector (DSMD) have also disappeared. Apart from this, all the weapons magazines are also reported in large quantities.
