In the National Herald case, the third person of the Gandhi family, Priyanka Gandhi has also come under investigation. According to a notice sent to Young Indian (YI) Pvt Ltd on behalf of Income Tax Department, Priyanka Gandhi bought Associate Journal Limited shares to ensure 100 percent stake of Young Indian in Associate Journal Limited (AJL).

According to the English website News 18, in the notice of 24-page income tax department, Sonia and Priyanka are said to be the main beneficiaries.

According to this notice, Priyanka Gandhi bought additional shares of Associate Journal Limited through Rattan Deep Trust and Janhit Nidhi Trust and thus, the ownership of Young Indian's Associate Journal Limited was fully owned. Young Indian's Majority share was already with Sonia and Rahul Gandhi.

Under the Section 148 of Income Tax, the revival of the Young Indian in the financial year 2010-11 revealed that this company also introduced fake transactions and incorrect data to save tax.

Let their Promoters of Young India present as a non-business company. The purpose of this company was to work for democracy and social unity.

Income tax notice says that with the acquisition of Associate Journal by Young Indian, the rights of several crores permanent properties came to the Young Indian, Young Indian had come to the right to recover rent crores of rupees from many properties of Associate Journal Limited.

Since more than 75 per cent of shares of the Young Indian had Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, they were the main beneficiaries of this transaction. The IT department has found in its investigation that all the people involved in this transaction were common and they were connected to Congress, Associate Journal Limited or Young Indian in some way.
