The government has declared a national emergency due to the floods in Pakistan.

Tents are erected in the old city of Sukkur in Pakistan's southern Sindh province as people need a place to stay. In these tents people are sitting on the beds they brought with them. People's valuables have been washed away in the water.
The streets in the city are full of water everywhere. Plastic waste has come out from the sewage pipe.
In Sindh province alone, floods have killed more than 300 people.
Pakistan's prime minister appeals for help
On Friday, August 26, 2022, Pakistan's Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that 33 million people have been affected by the floods. This is about 15 percent of the population of Pakistan.
