Myanmar's Action on Rohingya Muslims is 'an Accurate Example of Ethnic Massacre': UN

The head of the United Nations Human Rights Organization has said that security actions aimed at targeting Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar are "an accurate example of ethnic massacre".

Along with this, the head of the institute Zayid Rad al-Hussein appealed to Myanmar to end the 'ruthless military action'.

After the violence started last month, more than three lakh Rohingya Muslims have migrated from Myanmar to Bangladesh.

The army of Myanmar says that its action is against the Rohingya extremists only.

The army denies the charge of targeting the common man in some way.

On August 25, Rohingya extremists targeted the police checkpoints in the Northern Territory of Rakhine. In this attack, 12 security personnel were killed.

Since this incident, violence has erupted and Rohingya Muslims have to flee to Bangladesh.

Rohingya refugees say that Myanmar's army is launching a barbaric campaign against them in Rakhine, villages are being burnt, and common people are being attacked to disperse them from there.

Myanmar's Buddhist-dominated Rakhine province is near the border of Bangladesh and Rohingya Muslims are minorities here.

Zayid Rad al Hussein, head of United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, said that the current action in Rakhine is clearly unreasonable.
