A Bangladesh court has ordered an investigation into the alleged role of former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the murder of a ration shopkeeper in Dhaka.
In this case, the complainant's lawyer has said that the shopkeeper was killed during the student movement last month.
Amir Hamza has filed a case against Sheikh Hasina and six others, which has been approved for hearing by the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's Court of Dhaka.
Amir Hamza's lawyer Anwarul Haque has given this information. Anwarul Haque said that Magistrate Rajesh Chaudhary has ordered an investigation against Sheikh Hasina after hearing the complaint.
For the first time since the deaths during the demonstration and violence in Bangladesh in July 2024, a case has been registered against Sheikh Hasina. In this case, the role of Sheikh Hasina's party Awami League General Secretary Abdul Qadir and former Home Minister Abduzamman Khan and some senior police officers will also be investigated.
Amir Hamza says that ration shop owner Abu Sayeed was shot on 19 July 2024 when the police were firing on protesters during the students' movement.
