MCD Elections 2017: BJP's Victory on Delhi Municipal Corporation's Hat-Trick, Aam Aadmi Party 48, Congress 30 Seats

All 270 seats of Delhi Municipal Corporation elections have been declared. In this, BJP has won 181, AAP has 48, Congress 30 and others 11 seats.

Of the 63 seats in East Delhi Municipal Corporation, 47 have won BJP, 11 on Aam Aadmi Party, 3 on Congress and 2 in others.

Out of 103 seats in North Delhi, BJP has won 64, Aam Aadmi Party on 21, Congress on 15 and others have won 3 seats.

Of the 104 seats in South Delhi, BJP has won 70, Aam Aadmi Party on 16, Congress on 12 and others have won in six seats.

Bharatiya Janata Party President Amit Shah made a press conference and said that this is the victory of the work of the Modi Government. Shah said that the result of Delhi has pushed BJP's Victory Chariot.

PM Modi thanked the public after winning the MCD election.

Congress state president Ajay Maken resigned from his post taking responsibility for defeat.

Following Maken, Delhi Congress in-charge PC Chacko has also offered to resign.

Senior Congress leader and general secretary of All India Congress Committee (AICC) Gurudas Kamat resigned from all the posts of the party.

The Aam Aadmi Party, which runs the government in Delhi, is also reported to have a big upheaval. Party convenor and chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, along with Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, all the leaders are considered responsible for this defeat in the EVMs tampering.

Meanwhile, Aam Aadmi Party MLA Alka Lamba has also offered to resign.

Aam Aadmi Party MLA Somnath Bharti has also offered to resign from Malviya Nagar.

Anna Hazare, who was a well-wisher of Arvind Kejriwal, has strongly rebuked him saying that the EVM has not defeated the Aam Aadmi Party, the difference between statement-work has been defeated. He said that people have understood that there is no service, power in their mind.

Kejriwal's former ally Mayank Gandhi also wrote a letter and criticized the policies of Arvind Kejriwal.

Voting was done on April 23 for the MCD election. There were 272 out of 270 voting in the ward. The two wards which have not been voted for now, include Sarai Peepal Thala and Muzapur. The two seats will be held next month.
