Myanmar's human rights activist and State Counselor Aung San Suu Kyi have been stripped of more than half a dozen honors, including the 'Freedom of Oxford' honor given to not raising voice against the racial genocide of Rohingya Muslims of Myanmar.

The Oxford City Council took its decision with unanimous at a meeting on Monday (November 27th). In the meeting, council members voted in favor of shed respect. This honor was given to her in 1997, which she personally took in 2012 after being released from the detention of 15 years.

St. Hughes College of Oxford has also removed the photograph of Aung San Suu Kyi on the wall and changed the name of common room named after her.

In addition, Oxford City's 'Freedom of the City' honor has also been withdrawn. The London School of Economics has also removed the Student Union Presidency in their honor. Freedom of the City has also withdrawn in Glasgow. Sheffield has also freed the Freedom of the City honor.

Apart from these, the Unison Trade Union has also abolished the honorary membership of Aung San Suu Kyi. Union Trade Union has also abolished their honorary membership. After voting, Cross Party Motion states that it was right to respect Freedom of the City in 1997, because at that time she had fought a lot to protect democracy. In September, London's Oxford College had removed the picture of Aung San Suu from 1999. This picture was attached to the college's main entrance. It was said that this action has been taken after making a non-human comment by Aung San Suu on Rohingya Muslims.

Suu graduated from St Hughes College in 1967. This painting picture was made by the famous Artist Chen Yaning in 1997 and handed over to Suu Kyi's husband Michael Eris, who was professor at Oxford. After the death of Eris, the painting was handed over to the college. Since then, the painting was tangled at the college's main entrance.
