In Madhya Pradesh, farmers protest against the debt waiver has been raging, while its fire is now spreading across the country.
Congress workers have landed on the streets today across the country against the death of five farmers in Mandsaur violence and police firing there. Youth Congress activists launched rail roko agitation in many parts of the country including Bihar, Bengal, Odisha, Assam, Punjab, Haryana and New Delhi. Because of this, the operation of trains on many routes was hampered.
Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi was going to meet Mandsaur farmers yesterday, but police detained him in Neemuch.
However, after the release, he met the farmers.
Youth Congress workers in New Delhi launched Rail Roko agitation against Tilak Bridge Railway Station in protest against police firing on farmers in Mandsaur.
In Faridabad, adjacent to Delhi, Youth Congress activists surrounded the deputy commissioner's office in collaboration with the farmers and stopped the goods train at Bata railway station. Protesters mounted the train engine and shouted slogans against the Modi government of the Centre and the BJP government of Haryana. Earlier on Thursday, there was a meeting to decide the strategy of agitation between Congress workers and farmers.
Congress leaders and activists in Maharashtra's capital Mumbai had protested against the BJP government on Thursday in protest against Mandsaur violence. Youth Congress launched Rail Roko agitation at Ghatkopar Railway Station.
Meanwhile, there is news of fresh violence in Shajapur of Madhya Pradesh. There too farmers have created ruckus and arson.
Apart from this, farmers have been informed about the ruckus on the flagged Toll Naka of capital Bhopal. Farmers have throwed stones there. After this the police managed to disperse them.
The police has also fired air on farmers in Sehore, near Bhopal.
Meanwhile, another farmer has died in Mandsaur violence. He was seriously injured in police beatings and his treatment was underway.
In the Raisena of MP, a farmer Shrikrishna Meena has also committed suicide by consuming poison. He was troubled by the debt of 12 lakh rupees. They have two daughters and one son.
