Former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Yadav was convicted in the fodder scam. Lalu was also present in the special court of the CBI when the verdict was announced on Saturday. Another accused of this scam, Dr. Jagannath Mishra acquitted by the court.
Lalu Yadav was also expected to be acquitted, But when the decision came, he and his son, Tejasvi Yadav, were astonished.
When the lawyer told Lalu about his culpability, Lalu said, "Look, he freed the doctor (Jagannath Mishra) and punished us ... did a lot of amazing."
This was Lalu's last words before being officially detained. The case will be pronounced on January 3.
In the case of fodder scam, the special court of Ranchi had ruled on Saturday. Lalu had reached Jharkhand's capital with his son himself. Initially, the verdict was to be pronounced at 11 o'clock in the morning, but the CBI judge Shivpal Singh postponed it till noon. After this Lalu Yadav returned to the guest house directly from the court.
Meanwhile, the news of FIR lodged by Enforcement Directorate (ED) against his elder daughter and Rajya Sabha member Misa Bharti and her husband came out. Lalu did not do anything about this by calling about it and taking information.
At about three and a half pm, two former Bihar Chief Ministers Lalu Yadav and Jagannath Mishra were waiting for their turn in a special court.
The court first acquitted the accused in a case related to the senior police officer of Jharkhand PS Natarajan, accused him of sexual abuse of a tribal young woman.
After this there was a turn of 22 accused with two former Chief Ministers. After taking the name by the court, everyone stood up and confirmed their presence. The judge acquitted six accused, including Dr. Jagannath Mishra, for free. The discomfort of the face of Jagannath Mishra could clearly be seen. As soon as he heard about the decision, he immediately left the court in happiness.
With the acquittal of Dr. Jagannath Mishra, Lalu Yadav and his son, Tejasvi Yadav, saw a hopeful ray. They felt that the court would also release them.
Initially, Lalu Yadav could not hear the court's verdict properly, which is why, when the lawyer told him that he was guilty, he was astonished.
Before being detained, he said, "Look, he freed Dr. Saheb and punished him. ... did amazing."
There were adequate security arrangements for the court to decide on the fodder scam. There the workers of the Rashtriya Janata Dal were also present.
